Volunteer

Lone Star Kitties is run entirely by our wonderful volunteers, and we are always looking for terrific new folks to join our team!
There are lots of ways to help, and we’ve only listed a few here to help you get an idea of some of the things our volunteers do, but if you have a special talent please feel free to contact us with your own ideas!

Fostering – provide a safe and loving home for a pet who is waiting for their forever home. Our fosters are the lifeblood of our organization. We do not have a physical building for our pets to stay at while awaiting adoption, so we are limited on how many animals we can save by how much space we have in our foster homes. Because of this, we are constantly recruiting for additional homes, especially for dogs and puppies! Most pets only need a small bathroom or extra bedroom where they can hang out for a little while, and we have options for all kinds of foster arrangements. If you can only commit to two or three weeks, we have a pet who needs a quiet place to recover from a minor illness or surgery before going to adoptions. If you’ve got a little more time, we have kittens who need extra socialization, pregnant cats and dogs who need a safe place to raise their babies, and older cats who might need a little extra love before being ready for a new home.
